Easy Solar’s success stems from its commitment to reaching even the most remote communities. The company has established a network of agents and shops across Sierra Leone and Liberia, providing access to solar-powered lamps, home systems, and appliances that are transforming lives.

“We’ve been able to bring light to communities that have never had access to electricity before,” Mosia stated. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact our solutions are having on people’s lives.”

Another success story is Altech, a solar power company based in the Democratic Republic of Congo, where less than 20% of the population has access to electricity. Altech’s co-founders, Washikala Malango and Iongwa Mashangao, were driven to start the company by their own experiences growing up in a refugee camp without reliable electricity.

Altech has sold over a million solar-powered products in Congo, ranging from lighting to appliances and generators. The company’s innovative payment system, which includes the ability to remotely disable appliances in cases of non-payment, has contributed to high repayment rates exceeding 90%.

“For many of our customers, this is the first time they have ever been connected to a reliable power source,” Malango said.
